Our formal process for the current budget year finished on May 9, when Town Council adopted a budget. Public input helped at every step of the way! The files below have the latest available details. Our fiscal year starts on July 1. Town Council and staff are always interested in your ideas for projects and the better use of public funds.

Future Planning

The Town budget lays out a plan for how we will provide services and complete projects for residents and businesses. Planning for the next year's budget connects to a longer range vision: read about our comprehensive plan here. It's great if you can get involved to suggest project ideas or improvements to our services. 

Timeline for the 2018-2019 budget:

  • November 2: Budget Happy Hour at Hammer & Forge brewery. Meet with town manager Matt Lawless to share your ideas.
  • November 3: Budget Lunch at Holly Jo's Creekside Grill. Another open invitation for your suggestions.
  • December 12: Town Council reviews strategic plan and makes changes for the calendar year 2018.
  • Winter: more open house and office hours options for reviewing project ideas and ranking priorities.
  • March 13: Town Council reviews the manager's recommended budget and provides feedback.
  • April 10: public hearing on Town Council's proposed budget. 
  • May 8: Final amendments and vote on budget adoption.

Financial Reports for past years

At the end of each fiscal year, the Town contracts with an outside accounting firm to complete an audit of the past year's finances. A clean financial report certifies that the Town's business practices are sound, and it helps affirm the Town's creditworthiness. Below are the reports for the past three fiscal years, which ended June 30.
