The Town of Boones Mill has a fiscal year that begins on July 1. The Town Council adopts a budget in the spring. This sets tax rates and plans expenses to complete projects in the coming year. The budget for 2016-2017 is roughly $400,000. Click below to download the current budget.
At the end of each fiscal year, the Town contracts with an outside accounting firm to complete an audit of the past year's finances. A clean financial report certifies that the Town's business practices are sound, and it helps affirm the Town's creditworthiness. Below are the reports for the past two fiscal years, which ended June 30. The audit for the current 2016-2017 fiscal year will be completed around January, 2018.
