The Town of Boones Mill seeks to facilitate economic development in the community by encouraging the growth of small businesses, recruiting other commercial ventures, and working closely with Franklin County. The Town is happy to be your first point of contact.
The County Development Services office is responsible for building permits, code enforcement, and erosion and stormwater regulations. Their planners and inspectors work well with the Town staff, and their website is here.
The comprehensive plan is a vision for the Town's future. It answers the important question, "What do you want Boones Mill to be like for the next generation?"
The Town's Comprehensive Plan describes our demographic trends, land use, transportation network, and economic development projects, to name a few. It has action items for immediate progress towards long-range goals.
Town staff worked with a technical planner from the Roanoke Regional Commission to prepare the Plan, and Town Council adopted it on December 8, 2015. Please take a look and consider how you can contribute! Plan implementation is a team effort, involving citizen volunteering, business investment, and partnership with community groups and neighboring governments.
