Existing Real Estate Property Tax
The Town real property tax rate is 12 cents per $100 of assessed value. This is in addition to Franklin County taxes. The Town sends separate bills, although the Town works in partnership with the County Commissioner of the Revenue on property assessments.
Existing Personal Property Tax
The Town personal property tax rate is 40 cents per $100 of assessed value. This is in addition to Franklin County taxes.
Proposed Tax Rates for Fiscal Year 2026-2027
Town Council will consider adoption of the following tax levies for Fiscal Year 2026–2027:
- Real Estate Tax:
$0.15 per $100 of assessed value
(Includes an annual increase of $0.005, or one‑half cent per year, continuing through 2030)
- Tangible Personal Property Tax:
$0.40 per $100 of assessed value
- Personal Property Tax Relief:
25 percent

PROPOSED Ordinance Establishing a Uniform Fee Schedule for the Use of Town-owned Facilities and Property
The Town of Boones Mill is proposing a new ordinance to create a simple, uniform fee schedule for renting Town‑owned parks, facilities, and properties. Rentals would be available at an affordable flat rate of
$25 per hour, with possible additional fees for deposits, cleaning, after‑hours staffing, and late cancellations. Discounts and waivers would be offered for Town‑sponsored events, qualifying charitable uses, and recurring rentals. Rental fees will help support the ongoing operation and maintenance of Town facilities and property.
A public hearing on this matter is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 6 pm at Town Hall.
